Silver lining
Ireland's western shores harbour many gems, Clifden and its Sky Road being one of them. At this particular stop, mid afternoon on 5 March 2013, we were going to have a look down towards Clifden Castle, now a ruin, but formerly home to John D'Arcy (1785–1839), the founder of the town.
As luck would have it, the swell, the wind and the clouds all cooperated to turn the sea in the bay into what looked like molten silver, reminding one of fish scales.
