Philipp Heer is a very generous person, a fellow photographer, and runs a truly great architecture feed over on Instagram (handle: lerichti). He’s the reason I tried Instagram, with a fledgling iPhone only account (handle: mylenwyd). Philipp has also changed the way I look at buildings, structures, in fact perhaps anything built. And this is the first iPhone shot I dare associate him with, so I dedicate it to him in gratitude of having helped me push boundaries, and explore new territory: thank you very much indeed, my friend. Schaulager in Basel, where this shot was taken, also introduced me to one of my favourite works of art so yet: “Plötzlich diese Übersicht” by Peter Fischli & David Weiss (+2012), a seemingly interminable compendium of humour, built in clay (wonderful catalogue: ISBN 978-3-906315-02-7).
