With Dublin THE real city in Ireland and Dingle Peninsula a sort of "Ireland en miniature" (also see text to my "Trasna na dTonnta" photos), the picturesque town of Adare is very worth a stop and perhaps overnight stay (Dunraven Arms, or - more upmarket - Adare Manor with its beautiful park).

While most come here to contemplate the rows of nice thatched-roof cottage houses with their charming little gardens, the one thing you definitely do not want to miss is a visit to the "Adare Old Creamery - Olde World Store" (www.oldcreameryco.com): a mixture between museum, gallery and craft shop, it is the type of place which rivals the uniqueness of Kaethe Wohlfahrt's world-famous christmas shop in equally famous Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Germany) or Johann Wanner's in Basel (aka Basle, Bâle, in Switzerland; purportedly also catering to the White House).
